To lift or not to lift

Replacement suspension systems on 4x4 do not normally provide an excessive increase in ride height and as such they should provide a lift of between 50 – 75mm. This, in itself should not have too much of an adverse effect on the driveability of the 4x4. However, suspension systems are available which provide for much more radical increases in height and it is here where I do believe that problematical influences start coming into play which will affect the dynamics of the vehicle design. The real escalating factor is the addition of oversized tyres to the mix.
